1. How do I delete my account?

Note: Deleting your account will not unsubscribe you from marketing emails as these are two separate actions. To learn how to Unsubscribe, jump to the next question.

If you’d like to delete your Soundsnap account, please send an email to [email protected] with the subject line ‘delete my account’. Please do NOT mark the email as spam.

We will delete your account and respond to you with confirmation of deletion within 48 hours.

Upon deletion, you will no longer receive any transactional emails and all of your favorited sounds and download history will be deleted and unrecoverable.

Deleting your account will NOT stop you from receiving marketing emails as they are sent from a different server (see how to Unsubscribe in the next question below).

2. How do I stop receiving marketing emails from Soundsnap? 

Note: Unsubscribing from Soundsnap will not delete your account (those are two separate things). To find out how to delete your account, please read the question above.

3. How much do sounds on Soundsnap cost?

4. I'm trying to buy a pack, but my card keeps getting rejected.

There are some known problems with certain cards and we're working hard to solve them. In the meanwhile, please try using a different card or use Paypal. Alternatively, email us at [email protected] and we can send you an invoice to be paid via wire or check.

5. Do you accept American Express?

We accept AMEX but it needs to be run through PayPal. When you get to the payment field, select PayPal and take the add credit card option, and input your details.

6. For how long can I use the download credits I bought? Are there limitations?

Download credits expire within a year of purchase. Annual Subscriptions last exactly one year from the date of the first download, and Monthly sounds renew every 30 days unless you decide to cancel. If you don't renew your monthly subscription, the remaining sounds will expire within a month of the purchase. Any sounds you've already downloaded you can use indefinitely as long as the usage is in accordance with our license.

7. How often will you bill my card? Do you have recurring billing?

Monthly and annual subscribers will have their card charged monthly or yearly depending on the type of account. Monthly accounts are charged at the time of purchase and then every 30 days from the date of the first purchase. Annual accounts are charged at the time of purchase and then one calendar year from the date of the first purchase. You may cancel a Monthly or Annual subscription at any time from the billing settings page. Please note: if you have paid with PayPal and have a pending transaction for your account, the cancellation will take effect after the pending transaction has been processed.

5 and 20 Download packs are not time-based accounts, and they do not charge on a recurring basis.

8. How do I change my billing information after I have already subscribed?

If you paid by card, go to the Billing tab in your account where you can Edit your card information.

9. If I paid with PayPal, how do I change my billing info to a card?

If you paid with PayPal and want to switch to a card (or vice versa), go to the Billing tab and switch Auto-renew to the Off position. When your subscription reaches its end, you will then be able to input new billing information under your user name.

10. How do I cancel or reactivate a recurring subscription?

Go to ‘My Account’ at the top right corner of any page, then choose ‘Billing’ from the dropdown. From the Billing page, you can view the details of your recurring subscription and cancel or reactivate it at any time by clicking the Automatic Renewal button. Note that for PayPal recurring payments, any pending payments must be processed before a subscription is canceled completely.

11. I’m a German user. Why can’t I purchase a Monthly or Annual subscription through PayPal?

Paypal has special rules that prevent German accounts from subscribing to recurring payments from other countries. We apologize for the inconvenience. We are currently working on a technical solution to this issue. As an alternative, feel free to contact us at [email protected] for alternate payment and pricing plans.

13. I just bought an account and I need an invoice/receipt.

To get your receipt, sign in and select 'Profile' from the top menu bar.  Then click on the Receipt tab which can be downloaded straight from the page. Custom invoices can be requested by emailing [email protected]
